But if I give Lae'zel the duel-wielding perk, I could have her be more damage-heavy. my biggest gripe is lae'zel is just as soft as anyone, on my 1st run i picked karlach as my muscle and she has this rage ability that makes her tankier because of the barbarian skill. I'm tired of people making all encompassing judgements about her character from Act 1, especially in terms of romance. Also, always carry a candle, you can drop it and dip your sword on it's fire with a bonus action. It needs Long rest for recharge, but having opportunity to slap one more time (3 per long rest) is nice. Menacing attack and Riposte make you much more likely to get an attack off with her reaction (menacing will have the enemy run away, and riposte gives a counterattack if the enemy misses). I think my issue with Lae'zel is more on the tangent that you don't need to have a hero complex to earn her disapproval, some of what she dislikes is because "you're wasting time pursuing a path involving a non-Githyanki cure" and the interactions that follow from that, but some of it is just "Let's not do something that hurts our chances of surviving Lae'Zel is Githyanki, so she should get medium armor and short/long/great swords from her race.
